V Vessel Kitchen has a mission and ethos that would normally make me reach for cynicism in anger. The restaurant owners have a history in SLC gastronomy, having been involved in the joint opening of restaurants such as Denny's, Co-Op and Bistro, and also working with a number of other restaurants in Salt Lake City. Although the shop is Greek-American - owned - Mandarin cuisine is dominated by a mix of local and foreign chefs, many of whom have worked in other upscale restaurants, most of whom have been in business for more than 20 years or even longer than the restaurant itself. Although Park City is rated 4.5, it has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a small restaurant in a parking lot in 2013.
The restaurant is still a family affair, and there are a number of family members as well as local and foreign chefs involved in the restaurant. Once this location was the Zona Rosa, which I was quite excited about when I reviewed it for the Salt Lake Tribune. The restaurant that tops the list is a Mexican restaurant with a wide selection of dishes at medium prices. I've been in this restaurant until this morning, so I'm happy to put it on my list.
Some Nevada companies are planning to head north, and at the time of writing, it looks like it will open in a new location in Salt Lake City in the next few months. Provo opens at midnight, so we hope the SLC outpost surpasses that, or even surpasses it. Some local businesses, as well as some from Nevada and a couple from California, are also coming to Utah.
